The description of Candy Crush Saga
Candy Crush Saga might be the most famous match 3 game of all time judging by the sheer number of people who have played this game. It is familiar, loveable, riveting and addictive, all part of its grand design. Candy Crush Saga is everything you’ve grown used to from the franchise, retaining similar gameplay mechanics but ramping up the graphics.
Gameplay
The premise has always been to match three or more candies of the same color to clear them off the board. You play within a set number of moves, and if you are unable to do so, then the game ends in a loss. As you start, matching candies is easy, and you can complete levels and gain boosters quickly. As the levels progress challenges, become harder, and you need to use a combination of boosters, strategies, and luck to clear the game board and progress. Some levels will have you racing to beat time instead of moves, invigorating the experience.
Matching four candies produces special candies and boosters, while matching 5 candies produces the special sugar candy which can clear all other candies of the same color on the game board. Some levels will require you to collect special candies while others will require you to destroy items on the game board.
Visuals
Visually, Candy Crush Saga is a huge upgrade from its predecessors. Due to the semi-3D glossy aesthetic, the game looks much more vibrant, and the colors pop on your screen. The visual effects once you make matches also keep the game lively, and of course, there’s that infectious background soundtrack and sounds of “sugar crush” which keep you coming back for more. The game has minimal menus keeping the focus on the game board.
Controls
One of the lasting appeals of the Candy Crush franchise is its easy controls which anyone can adapt to, and which are optimized for a wide range of devices. You simply need to swipe to make matches with adjacent candies. For special candies, you can also swipe against desired colors to clear the game board. The controls are seamless and intuitive, making it easy for anyone to pick up this game.
